Welcome Global Achievement students
Program Summary
international students The Global Achievement Program prepares international students for freshman admission at UC Davis and other top U.S. universities and to succeed in their academic courses and English language study.

The program benefits include:

Academic Preparation and English-as-a-Second Language support for nine months

SAT and TOEFL test preparation courses (optional)

Excellent academic preparation courses, including an intensive "Introduction to the American University" course to help students succeed in leading U.S. universities

Extensive one-on-one advising from a dedicated academic adviser

Social events and cultural excursions in Northern California

Extensive support in the friendly, peaceful community of Davis

Global Achievement Curriculum

Students can expect to follow the schedules below.

UC Davis Global Achievement Curriculum
TOEFL PBT 500/iBT 61/IELTS 5.0
One 10-week quarter of intensive ESL program and academic preparation coursework 9 months*
TOEFL PBT 480+/iBT 54/IELTS 4.5
Three 10-week quarters of intensive ESL program and academic preparation coursework in the fourth quarter 12+ months
*4th quarter is optional and available for an additional fee.

Selection Requirements for the Global Achievement Program

  • Completion of the equivalent of a four-year U.S. high school diploma
  • Superior grades in academic subjects (minimum 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale)

Participating in this educational program does not in itself provide preference in admission to the University of California. Students interested in applying to UC should refer to the UC Admissions website or the admissions office of the UC campus they wish to attend for details about the admissions process.
