How to Apply to the Global Achievement Program (2013-2014)

To apply to the Global Achievement Program (GAP), please follow the steps below.

Please read and follow the application instructions very carefully.

  1. How to submit the Global Achievement Program application materials:

    1. a. Complete the Global Achievement Program Application Form, 2013-2014 Academic Year. The Global Achievement Program application includes questions about your academic history, English examination scores, personal essay and other important information.

      Please note: The applicant must provide complete and accurate information for all requested information in the GAP application. Providing inaccurate and/or incomplete information may jeopardize the studentís application.

    2. Submit the following supplementary documents with the application form:

      1. Official English Examination Scores. Students must submit official TOEFL PBT/iBT/CBT or IELTS examination scores taken within six months of the application deadline. For the TOEFL examination, list our ETS code: 4778.

      2. Photocopy of the biographical information page of current passport

      3. Proof of having a minimum amount of sufficient funds to participate in UC Davis Global Achievement Program, approximately $41,275 USD. This amount includes the GAP Program tuition for nine months, estimated off-campus living expenses, and international student health insurance fees. The statement should appear on bank letterhead and should be dated within the last 90 days.

      4. Submit one official copy of all academic transcripts for Years 9, 10, 11 and 12

    3. Mail the Global Achievement Program Application and supplemental documents (items 1-4 listed above) to this mailing address:

    4. Make arrangements as early as possible to ensure that your Middle and Secondary (High) Schools issue one official transcript for Years 9, 10, 11 and 12 in sealed, stamped envelopes directly to the address below:

      Note: The Secondary (High) School transcript should list the date of graduation. Please request your Secondary School to send a graduation certificate in a sealed, stamped envelope if the date of graduation does not appear on the transcript.

      Note: The original transcripts must be received DIRECTLY from the issuing Middle and Secondary Schools in sealed, stamped envelopes by the application deadline.

  2. The UC Davis Global Achievement Program Admission Committee will review the applications within one month of the application deadline. GAP admissions officers will carefully screen the application in order to evaluate the studentís eligibility.

  3. If you are accepted to participate in the Global Achievement Program, an official Acceptance Confirmation Letter will be sent to you. This letter is usually sent via e-mail and it will describe the steps required to secure your place in the program. These steps include reviewing all program policies, providing payment for the non-refundable Program Deposit of $10,000 USD, and submitting your Statement of Intent to Register. The Program Deposit is only refundable under certain conditions outlined in Program Cancellation Policies.

  4. When the Global Achievement Program receives your signed Statement of Intent to Register and the Program Deposit of $10,000 USD, your admission materials will be sent to you. You will receive an official Letter of Acceptance and I-20 Form to submit your request for a student visa, additional program information, and general orientation materials to familiarize yourself with UC Davis.

  5. Upon receipt of your Student Visa, you will need to pay the balance of your tuition and fees. You must confirm enrollment in the program no later than 30 days before the Program Start Date. If full payment of Tuition and Fees is not received 30 days before the Program Start Date, the Global Achievement Program will consider the application withdrawn and will cancel the applicantís enrollment in the program. Note: The complete GAP application package and all supplementary materials must be received by April 15, 2013 for the Summer 2013 admission deadline and by July 26, 2013 for the Fall 2013 admission deadline.
